In celebration of Juneteenth, I’ve adapted this recipe by switching out the usual bourbon with Uncle Nearest Whiskey. Uncle Nearest pays tribute to Nearest Green, the enslaved master distiller who taught Jack Daniels how to make whiskey. For an extra kick, add another teaspoon (or more!) of Uncle Nearest to the sauce right before slathering it onto your favorite protein.
